Early Pre-K

New Mexico Pilot Early Pre-K

The New Mexico Pilot Early Pre-K provides voluntary, state-funded early childhood education programs for children who turn three (3) years of age before 12:01am, September 1st, and are not age-eligible for New Mexico Pre-K.

The purpose of New Mexico Pre-K and New Mexico Pilot Early Pre-K is to:

  • Increase statewide access to voluntary high quality early childhood education programs
  • Provide developmentally appropriate early learning activities for New Mexico children that focus on school readiness
  • Expand early childhood community capacity
  • Provide high quality early childhood education programs based on the comprehensive framework as described in the New Mexico PreK and Early PreK Program Standards

  • Extended Day Program (August-May)
    • Monday-Friday
    • 7:30 AM - 12:30 PM

    • 12:30 PM - 5:30 PM

Applications for the 2018-2019 PreK and Early PreK year will open on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 7:00am. Applications can be emailed to weecare@unm.edu, faxed to (505)277-3182, or submitted to our office located at 1210 University Blvd NE. Applications will be date and time stamped upon receipt. An email will be sent to the family confirming receipt of applications that are emailed or faxed. 

Please be aware that any applications submitted prior to 7:00am on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 will not be considered.
